Gosh, with all the excitement this week – Brian Cowen and his worldwide intervention, the Pope and his lackluster ticket sales, Colleen and Rooney crisis talks (and Colleen’s eyebrows – wtf?) – there’s hasn’t been much time for hardcore lust research. Half the team are on holidays, Lorna is in the thick of Debs Drama, Sarah is recuperating after all the video stress (check it out here) and Rachel is still celebrating her JC results. But fear not, Jennie is on the case, the case specifically being tasty, ethical treats from Fashion Conscience. Read the rest of this entry »
Coco Rocha was invited by ElleUK to do a 25-page shoot for it’s 25th birthday.
I can honestly say it’s one of the most sexy, evocative, electrifying, want-inducing shoots I’ve seen in years.
It’s an hommage to the Jane Fonda movie “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” which is all about a dance marathon held during the American Depression. The idea was dance til you drop.
And man was the shoot convincing. I feel like taking a puff of my Ventolin just looking at these pics.
Hm. This is a style that I’ve always kind of flirted with…the neat gold chains I used to layer around my neck for two years hinted at it…the silver hoops I bought a few months ago that stretched to a large one and a half diameter were remarked upon by friends… Read the rest of this entry »
So its that time of year again…
The evenings are getting colder ( I had to put socks on last night as my toesies were cold – I harbour an allusion that calling them toesies makes them cuter). The nights are getting shorter and my anxiety grows.
As I have previously outlined, I do believe that the money fairies frequent our apartment and steal all my money. However, this winter I have decided I am going to be sensible with my spending. Read the rest of this entry »
Oh Isabel Marant, you are KILLING me. Your fashion is so accessible, so utterly ridiculously divine – I nearly break out in a rash, I get a case of The Want so badly. Now when I say accessible, I don’t mean in monetary terms. We’re talking about starting at over a grand for most of her items in the collection. Still, I reckon this is a look that’ll get turned around on the high street fairly quickly. Hopefully by October, we can have ourselves a few Marant-inspired pieces.
More pics of the A/W 2010 collection after the cut. (But be warned, The Want is infectious…)
Topshop has a veritable feast of covetable items in its collection for A/W. Curse being only able to afford one or two things! This dress is actually stretching the ‘high street’ price tag – it costs £225 which converted to euro is 270. And you know they’ll mark it up in euro some more. It’s so gorgeous though, I nearly WANT to get invited to a wedding so that I could have an excuse to buy it.
Check out more new offerings from Topshop after the cut:
Sorry I know it’s still summer… But look outside, it doesn’t really look it, does it? Ok to go on a winter tip for a moment?
Right, well they tell me sheepskin is gonna be biiiig this winter. Well not just sheepskin actually, any sort of animal skin/fur/feather. For a while now, I’ve been pining after a daycent aviator jacket. Anyone seen any nice ones aboot town? Unfortunately and unsurprisingly I cannot afford the Burberry price tag (they start at £3,000). I’ve spotted one on ASOS but I fear for the quality of it. This affordable-jacket hunt could take some time…
The other night I had a dream. I was a teacher, Dylan Moran was my boyfriend and my parents were a travelling folk music duo. Somehow from this madness an epiphany emerged. I began to examine my fashion personality.
So its safe to say I have never been an A-wear fan. I always thought it was the Fair City of fashion i.e. a poor Irish substitute of our neighbours across the water. The clothes were never as on trend and the material always poor quality. A-wear was similar to Pennys but double the price and lacking the ability to adapt High Fashion to High Street.
