Catchy as hell, but that’s a whole other box of subjectivity. The real focus of interest is MNDR or Amanda Warner – the emceeing lady with the glasses. You know the glasses I’m talking about. It’s nearly midnight and I’m STILL trying to suss out what I’m gonna wear to Oxegen tomorrow. It’s raining OF COURSE so that puts a giant pleurisy-shaped hole in my wardrobe plans. But lads you know how it goes, you’ve been there same as me: you get a great outfit together and then just have to throw an aul hoody and rain-jacket over it cos you’re turning blue with the cold.

oh how i have missed you...
A week from now I will be standing in an over-crowded, smelly, disease-infested field in the middle of nowhere. I will be ankle deep in mud, isolated from hygiene-friendly toilets and clean, dry clothes. The only food to be consumed will be €15 hamburgers, which, strangely enough considering the price, taste pretty sick. Oh good god, the excitement is overwhelming! So Kings of Concrete took place over the weekend and if you wanted a yardstick of how cool Ireland has the potential to be, this was it. Every sort of hip and happenin’ body flocked to the 2-day urban arts festival. I don’t remember the kids being this cool when I was young. There were piercings and undercuts as far as the eye could see and the prevalent mode of transport were cons and neon nike high-tops. Caps were a high velocity presence as were giant plastic shades and skateboards accessorized the look. To be fair, the atmosphere was friendly, enthusiastic and bouncing: none of the too-cool-for-school trendies, just a gang of dancers, boarders, graffers and dj’s spreading the love.
The latest scribe to join the pre-pubescent blogosphere is none other than the offspring of a one Madonna Louise Ciccone.
Yep Lourdes Leon is “4 realz” excited about it too. Now some of you might remember my Tavi rant some months back. You might be expecting to go berserk over the very idea of Lourdes tap-tapping away on the latest Macbook (errr that’d be the iPad, no?) about her fashionable thoughts… but no. Her (inaugural) post is just plain endearing. Her writing is cute and Bebo-esque and makes me think of a little sis trying on blogging for size.
Elly Jackson aka La Roux performed at Viktor and Rolf’s Men Spring Summer Collection 2011 in Paris the other day. It’s not a surprising choice of artist to make an appearance at their show given her androgynous look and her schtick.
It looks like it may be the first appearance of many. It seems the design duo have adopted her as their new muse. (Apparently they wanted her in high heels for the gig though. Elly flatly refused. God I crack me up.)

First up, it’s MIA (thrice for good measure): I first saw her on the cover of i-D Magazine in 2005. She was wearing a lumber jack shirt and apparently was stuffed with a cold that day. The fact that a woman can look that hot while sporting a pajama top and a virus is just heart-breaking. Bitch. No I take it back, I can’t hate her.
